GSC strongly condemns the Cowardly attack on Gurudwara in Kabul.
Global Sikh Council strongly condemns and is deeply concerned about the cowardly attack on Gurudwara Karte Parwan.
Two people died after a group of unidentified gunmen stormed a gurudwara in Kabul, Afghanistan, on Saturday, and opened fire. The deceased has been identified as 60-year-old Sawinder Singh, a native of Ghazni whose family resides in Delhi, and Ahmad, who was a security guard at the gurudwara.
GSC is moved by the spirit of resistance of devout Kabul Sikhs who despite being under heavy attack, gave priority to the safety of Holy Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Despite extreme hardships, they have stood for their rights as per the Sikhi spirit of Chardikala.
There have been a number of terrorist attacks on Sikhs living in Afghanistan in the past also. GSC appeals to the democracies of the world to ensure the safety of the micro-minority Sikh Community in Afghanistan.

ਗਲੋਬਲ ਸਿੱਖ ਕੌਂਸਲ (ਜੀਐਸਸੀ) , ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਕਾਰਤੇ ਪਰਵਾਨ ਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਕਾਇਰਾਨਾ ਹਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਸਖਤ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਥੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਬੀਤੇ ਸ਼ਨੀਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਅਫਗਾਨਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਕਾਬੁਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਣਪਛਾਤੇ ਬੰਦੂਕਧਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਸਮੂਹ ਵਲੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਖਲ ਹੋਕੇ ਗੋਲੀਬਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਦੋ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ।ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਸਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ (60 ਸਾਲ) ਵਾਸੀ ਗਜ਼ਨੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਹਿਮਦ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਾਰਡ ਵਜੋਂ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ।
ਜੀਐਸਸੀ ਕਾਬੁਲੀ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਾਕਰੇ ਦੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਭਾਰੀ ਹਮਲੇ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਵੀ ,ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਧੰਨ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਸਰੂਪ ਨੂੰ ਉਥੋਂ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੇ ਲੈਕੇ ਗਏ।ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਔਕੜਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਚੜਦੀਕਲਾ ਵਾਲੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਡਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
ਅਫਗਾਨਿਸਤਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਤੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਵੀ ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਆਤੰਕੀ ਹਮਲੇ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ।ਜੀਐਸਸੀ , ਅਫਗਾਨਿਸਤਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਤੰਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਜੋਰਦਾਰ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਅਪੀਲ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
