GSC Condemns Brutal Killing of Sikh Shopkeeper in Peshawar

The Global Sikh Council (GSC) strongly condemns the heinous act of violence against a Sikh shopkeeper in Peshawar. According to reports, the victim, identified as Dayal Singh, was shot dead by unknown assailants outside his shop in the Scheme Chowk area on 31-03-2023.

The incident has sparked outrage and fear among the Sikh community, who have long faced discrimination and violence in Pakistan. The GSC urges the Pakistani authorities to take swift action to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

“GSC is deeply saddened by this tragic incident and we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of the victim,” said Amritpal Singh Sachdeva, President of GSC. “We stand in solidarity with the Sikh community in Pakistan and call upon the government to take immediate steps to ensure the safety and security of all minorities in the country.”

The GSC also calls on the international community to take notice of the worsening situation of minorities in South Asia and to take appropriate action to protect their rights.

“We cannot remain silent in the face of such atrocities. We must come together to raise our voices and demand justice for the victims and their families,” said Amritpal Singh Sachdeva.

The GSC is a global organization that represents Sikh communities worldwide. It advocates for the rights and freedoms of Sikhs and promotes interfaith dialogue and understanding.
