Sikh political prisoners are languishing in various jails of India despite having completed the terms of their sentences. This is gross violation of human rights and is unconstitutional. Global Sikh Council (GSC) fully supports and prays for the success of Quami Insaaf Morcha for the release of Bandi Singhs who have already completed their term.
Government of India should release them without any delay. It is unfortunate that Sikhs have to sit on long dharnas for every rightful and constitutional demand.
At the same time, GSC would like to give suggestion to the organizers of Dharna that they should take care to avoid scuffles or violence at the morcha. In the past few days, Bhai Baljit Singh Daduwal and Sardar Harjinder Singh Dhami had to face wrath of the protestors.
Rather GSC suggests, that everyone who supports be given chance to speak and answer the tough questions on their past mistakes. But violence needs to be avoided at all costs which may derail the morcha.
GSC wholeheartedly prays to see Bandi Singhs out of jail as soon as possible.
